Fusilier Stephen Michael Stormont, who was born Stefan Steinberg, was a soldier of the British Army who died during the Second World War.

He was born in in 1923, in Germany, the son of Eugen and Nelly Steinberg (née Kussy). While he was able to seek refuge in Britain, his mother did not survive the Holocaust. She was murdered at Auschwitz concentration camp, on 14 October 1942.[1]

As Stormont, he died on 9 April 1945, during the Allied invasion of Germany, while serving with the 6th Battalion, The Royal Welch Fusiliers.

He is buried in Becklingen War Cemetery.
