Sergeant Rudolph Angel Antonio Forte was a Scottish airman of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died during the Second World War.
He was born in 1923, in Hawick, the son of Italian-born Massimino and Maria Pace Forte, of Dundee.
Aged 21 Forte, an air gunner with 76 Squadron, died on 21 January 1944, when his Handley Page Halifax (serial LK922) was shot down by a German night-fighter while on a raid against the Magdeburg synthetic oil plant. Three of the seven crew survived to be taken prisoner.
He is buried in Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery.
