Sergeant Rino Guiseppe Arturo Platoni was an English airman of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died during the Second World War.

He was born in 1922, in Greenwich, the son of Italian-born Angelo, a cafe proprietor, and Emma Platoni (née Bellengi).

Platoni, serving as a flight engineer in 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit, died on 24 March 1943, when his Handley Page Halifax (BB218) crashed due to engine failure and possible pilot error, near to RAF Marston Moor. Three of the six-man crew survived.[1]

Platoni is buried in St. Pancras Cemetery, North Yorkshire.
