Sapper Raffaele Maietta was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the Second World War.
He was born in 1917, in Wandsworth, the son of Italian ice cream vendor Raffaele and Gertrude Maietta (née Walker), of London. Maietta's father died shortly before his birth and his mother remairred in 1920, to Thomas Murray.
Maietta died on 17 November 1944, in a Naples hospital during the Italian Campaign, while serving with 7 Field Company, Royal Engineers. He had married Doris Franks in 1940.
He is buried in Naples War Cemetery.
