Lieutenant Michael Cecil Marmorstein was an English officer of the British Army who died during the Second World War.

He was born on 9 November 1916, in Paddington, the youngest son of Rabbi Arthur, a scholar and lecturer at Jews' College, and Antonia Colombia Marmorstein (née Gaster),[1] originally of Hungary and Romania, respectively.[2] Marmorstein received his initial education at St Paul's School before entering Oxford.[1]

Marmorstein died on 27 October 1943, during the Italian Campaign, while serving with the 2nd Battalion, The London Irish Rifles, attached from the Royal Ulster Rifles. His death occurred during the assault on San Salvo, in which he was killed leading a charge on a machine gun position. He had been officer commanding "F" Platoon.[3]

He is buried in Moro River Canadian War Cemetery.
