Private Max Markovitz was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born in Plock, Poland, in the then-Russian Empire, the son of Philip and Hannah Markovitz. At the time of the 1911 census, Markovitz was working as a cycle agent with his brother Maurice while living on Manchester Road, Tideswell.

Aged 26, Markovitz died on 12 December 1915, of wounds received on the Western Front, while serving with the 10th Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). He had arrived in France in July.

He is buried in White House Cemetery, St. Jean-les-Ypres.
