Louis Gosschalk

Rifleman Louis Berlyn Gosschalk was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born c. 1890, in Hull, the son of Lionel Louis Gosschalk, a cattle salesman and butcher, and Annie Gosschalk (née Berlyn), of London and Birmingham, respectively.

Gosschalk died on 20 September 1917, during the Third Battle of Ypres, while serving with the 2/5th (City of London) Battalion (London Rifle Brigade), The London Regiment on the Western Front.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Menin Gate Memorial.
