Rifleman Leslie Gordon Berkowitz was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the Second World War.

He was born on 6 February 1914, in Gloucester, the son of Polish-born David and Lily Berkowitz (née King).[1] In 1939, Berkowitz was working as a waiter.[2]

Berkowitz is presumed to have died on or after 5 October 1943 while attempting to escape from a prisoner of war camp. He had been captured on 20 January 1943, in Tunisia, while serving with the London Irish Rifles, The Royal Ulster Rifles.[3] Berkowitz had married in 1940, to Annie Winifred Addison.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Medjez-el-Bab Memorial.
