Assistant Cook John Baptist Xuereb was a Maltese sailor of the Royal Navy who died during the Second World War.

He was born the son of John and Peola Xuereb, of St Julian's, Malta.

Xuereb died on 14 October 1939, when the German U-boat U-47 torpedoed the battleship HMS Royal Oak, anchored at Scapa Flow, with the loss of 833 crew..

Xuereb has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
