Assistant Steward Francis Polidano was a Maltese sailor of the Royal Navy who died during the Second World War.

He was born the son of Emmanuel and Carmela Polidano, of Floriana.

Aged 20, Polidano died on 8 June 1940, when the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisena sunk the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious in the North Sea, with the loss of more than 1,200 crew.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
