Moses Steinberg

Private Moses Lazarus Steinberg was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born at Leeds, the son of Polish-born parents Abraham, a milk dealer, and Fanny Steinberg. At the time of the 1911 Census, Steinberg was apprenticing as a tailor while living with his family at 39 Trafalgar Street, North Street.

Aged 20, Steinberg died on 8 November 1918, three days before the Armistice with Germany, while serving on the Western Front with the 1st Base Mechanical Transport Depot, Army Service Corps.

He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen.
