Lieutenant Dirk Jacobus Kruger was a South African officer of the British Army who was killed during the First World War.
He was born in Cape Colony, South Africa, the son of Jan Andries and Anna Kruger. His father later remarried, to Hester Johanna Maria Kruger.
Originally a private in the South African Infantry. Kruger later obtained a commission as a second lieutenant in the 23rd Battalion, The Manchester Regiment. He died, aged 29, on 2 April 1918, during Germany's Spring Offensive on the Western Front.
Kruger is buried in Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme
