Rifleman Charles (Carl) Petersen was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born c. 1894, in Hendon , the son of Danish-born Carl Johan, a builder of model yachts, and Dorothea Wilhelmina Petersen (née Helmbrecht), of London. At the time of the 1911 Census, the Petersen family were residing at 15 Willes Road, Kentish Town.

Aged 22, Petersen died on 22 July 1916, of wounds received on the Western Front, while serving with the 16th (County of London) Battalion, (Queen's Westminster Rifles), The London Regiment.

He is buried in Hebuterne Military Cemetery.
