Private Cecil Corkland was a Welsh soldier of the British Army who died during the Second World War.
He was born on 22 April 1911, in Newport, the son of Russian-born travelling haberdasher Isaac and Selina Corkland (née Drachman), of Birmingham. In 1939, Corkland was working as a warehouse packer.[1]
Corkland died on 20 December 1943, during the Italian Campaign, while serving with the 5th Battalion, The Essex Regiment.
He is buried in the Sangro River War Cemetery.
