Private Barnett Levine was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in London or Russia (his place of birth varied in the 1901 and 1911 censuses), the son of Russian-born parents Morris, a tailor by trade, and Fanny Levine. At the time of the 1911 census, the younger Levine was working as a porter while living with his family at 41 Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham.
Aged 30, Levine died on 19 December 1914, on the Western Front, while serving with "B" Company, of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He had arrived in France only a month before his death.[1]
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Ploegsteert Memorial.
