Alfred Van Leer

Lance Bombardier Abraham Alfred Van Leer was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born c. 1898, in Bethnal Green, the son of watch maker Louis and Hannah Van Leer (née Bash), both of London. At the time of the 1911 Census, the Van Leer family were residing at 24 Bishops Road.

Van Leer died on 16 December 1917, on the Western Front, while serving with "D" Battery, 331st Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

He is buried in China Wall Perth Cemetery, Belgium.
