Private Alexander Abrahamson was a Scottish soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in Hutchesontown, the son of Polish-born parents Louis and Martha Abrahamson.
Abrahamson died on 26 February 1918, when the German U-boat UC-56 torpedoed the hospital ship HMHS Glenart Castle off Lundy Island. The vessel sank in eight minutes with the loss of 162 people.
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Holybrook Memorial.
